Getting off the Rollercoaster - Going for Adoption

. . .with Nanna (my mum)
Yes, I am the muppet that held the camera the wrong way round to start with, but as my mum is now 87, and suffering dementia, I thought this one was worth keeping anyway. She adores him!
In July 2006 I picked up the phone and made my first enquiry about adoption. In the November we attended a course (4 Saturdays in a row, all day) and the following October, (2007) we were approved to adopt a child (or 2 children) age 0 - 3. On May 2nd 2008 we brought Theo home - he was just 15 months old. He's our dream come true.
Background: 7 miscarriages since November 2003. All before 8 weeks. I have never had a D&C - my uterus appears to be FULLY rejecting, all on its own. My age has been blamed, and I am now feeling old enough to believe that.
On the bright side I have a fantastic husband, live in a lovely stone cottage in a beautiful rural location, have 2 tabby cats and 16 elderly chickens. (Still laying though! What's their secret?)
